Kaspersky is a top of the class performer for Malware detection.  Any browser should allow you access to the On-Line scanner but if having problems you can use a different BROWSER.  Follow this link to access the online scanner:

Close any open applications except the browser.  If Anti-Virus & Security Software is already installed on the computer they may need to be temporarily disabled to use this.  This can typically be done via a RIGHT-CLICK on the programs icon in the System Tray at the bottom right of the computer screen.  Alternately, be prepared to “ALLOW”, “TRUST”, “PERMIT” for any pop-up boxes, after reading the alert, once the KASPERSKY on-line scan procedure described here is started.  At the Kaspersky Virus Scanner link above, LEFT-CLICK on and a new window will appear. If the button looks like this, the left side of the Web Page explains the problem.  Either, make the browser adjustments via the Tools/Options, install a missing plug-in if prompted or use a different browser.  The likely issue is JAVA not being enabled, installed or updated with the most recent version.  LEFT-CLICK and the process will start.  If you get an alert POP-UP for JAVA, choose RUN if you want to allow it to start.  Next, the part will start as it loads a temporary program that will be used to scan the computer.  The speed of the Internet connection will determine how long this part takes.

When the download completes the part can start.  Select an option via Left-Click, the recommendation is to do a scan or for a complete scan of the computer.  The scan time will depend on the size of the files. Any .cab files being scanned may cause the scan to appear it has stopped since these are large files.  Once, completed a is generated that will list any Threats, Infected Objects or Suspicious Objects.  Left-Click on the report and as a txt file so you can clean the infected files.  Congratulations if the computer checks out clean.  Cleaning is best completed by the Software that

discovers the malware.  One option to try is using the Files Path to locate it on the computer and Right-Click to have the Anti-Virus scan the file to see if it will detect it as Malware.  Kaspersky is excellent software so it may detect an infected file that your current Security Software does not identify as dangerous.  Be careful about just deleting the file since it could be an important system file.

[If MALWARE is detected read the BRAVE OF HEART articles to learn important steps to prevent future infections.]

ALTERNATIVE: DOWNLOAD the TRIAL VERSION WITH or WITHOUT the FIREWALL and test it out.  Stopping MALWARE, SPYWARE, Trojan-Horses, HIJACKS, KEY-LOGGERS from the beginning is always the BEST Defense!
